MPs have been taking liberties with their expense claims. It's not good of course, but what I don't understand is why it is all over the news for the last week like it's something new.
Surely we all knew already MPs are not the most trustworthy bunch, arranging agreements to further their political careers over and above what is right for their constituents. It's only a small step to assume they would be inflating their expenses a bit, much like I anticipate a lot of top execs get higher expenses paid out than they have actually spent in the first place.
Is there really nothing else of significance going on in the world?
